Usual eclectic collection of vehicles to interest our visitors
Open Doors Day and bus time again Lanchester, Renault and Bristol cars photo exhibition in the hotel on Sunday Mg and and double decker Maggie driving the merchandise back home. High vis jacket and helmet not normal driving attire in the 1924 Lanchester limo Tom drawing the winning raffle during our committee meeting. Prizes were an original 1893 first day of opening medallion, a polo shirt and an A5 photo

Sue and Michael contemplating the objects to display in the exhibition running from 10 July to 28 September Sue and Peter having a discussion. Peter will be bringing items such as an original ticket, his father’s medallion, the guide to the Railway We did an hour on the Ben Prater show (Radio Bristol) describing the exhibition, and John Penny describing the work he had done on knitting together some early news footage with the Secret Underground Bristol programme featuring the Railway memories of people from WWII. Allie Dillon, archivist from the Records Office contributed to the programme too the “new” gatepost and part of the braking system also on display John standing proudly by the video system which caused him rather a lot of grief Molly Foss’s BBC transmitting engineer training book from Maida Vale 1941

To celebrate the announcement of my British Empire Medal, we did three trips down the tunnel and were treated to lunch by the Worhipful Company of Engineers Some of the Engineers that we took down Chris was moving house so he brought a gatepost back! All contributions welcomely received Trips take place in rain and sunshine. 11 trips this month! Dominic sorting his coat out Alan looking happy

we brought up a BBC lampshade and hung it up so everyone could see it on open day Alan getting it ready for hanging The boards needed touching up Philip and Maggie painting a board each Edwin and Anne painting the boards too- real family affair since Philip is their son The steps needed sweeping The floor needed washing Smart for open day- trouble is that I had left it a bit late and could only find cut flowers – but they survived! 1925 Talbot 10/23 and 1935 MG on display this time The Lord Mayor Geoff Gollop and Lady Mayoress came to visit. Peter and Maggie proud to take them round. They spent 1 1/2 hours with us, when 1 hour had been allocated. A wonderful day if a bit cold. The Lord Mayor Geoff Gollop and Lady Mayoress also went to look at our photographic exhibition in the Hotel. Absolutely great, and they talked to us all.
